The Leadership Council captures and synthesizes the collective thinking of PCN members and uses it to: refine the strategic direction of the Network; create new initiatives as needs arise; oversee the work of PCN committees; and supervise PCN staff. Members of the Leadership Council also serve on PCN program committees and serve as liaisons between the committees and the Council.
The Leadership Council is made up of PCN working members who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the Network, its mission, goals and values by attending at least one national gathering, serving on a PCN committee, and/or coordinating a PCN project. Members serve 3 year terms. When there are openings on the Council, current members assess diversity needs and begin the process of recruiting appropriate candidates. Members attending the national gatherings also may nominate themselves or others for service. Candidates are affirmed by the full PCN body at annual national gatherings.
