PCN is driven by people committed to strengthening grassroots justice movement and who believe that effective communication is vital to change making. Those who volunteer their time, skills, and leadership to advance the Network’s mission are called PCN Players.
PCN Players contribute their skills in, and passion for, communication strategy, framing and messaging, and media tools to: 1) enhance the influence of justice movements on public policy and opinion; and 2) realize a world without poverty, racism, and other forms of oppression.
These volunteers and leaders have the highest level of participation in the Network through their service in PCN working groups and committees and / or providing pro-bono services to grassroots organizations and change efforts. The Network’s governing body, the Leadership Council, is drawn from this group. PCN Players actively participate in direction setting for the Network through giving their ideas and feedback via conversations, surveys, and “business meetings” sections of gatherings.
