Pacific Northwest Chapter Releases Nine Digital Stories

PCN's Pacific Northwest Chapter has released the completed videos from their weekend workshop on digital storytelling. Here are links to the videos, all created by members/leaders of groups in the Pacific Northwest.

In The Real Oregon - Umatilla-Morrow Alternatives, Frank describes why he founded this Eastern Oregon group that develops leaders and works to end discrimination based on race, sexual orientation, or HIV status. http://pcn-nw.blip.tv/file/1416656/

Letter from a Marine Mom is "open letter" to an Iraqi child, where an American mom explains how the actions of her son in a firefight have connected the two of them to each other. Her son and her family have been changed by his experiences in Iraq. http://blip.tv/file/1243116

In No Place, Maria shares her experience as a young immigrant caught between the country of her birth (Mexico) and the country she has grown up in (the U.S.) and how the DREAM Act would enable her to achieve a long-term goal: completing college.  http://blip.tv/file/1390807

In Abel's story, Something Special, a young Latino man talks about his change from getting in trouble to finding his voice as he gets involved with PCUN, Oregon's farmworker union.  http://blip.tv/file/1415455

In Community Alliance of Tenants, a member/volunteer explains how CAT helped her when she was having trouble as a renter, and the sorts of problems she now helps other tenants with as a CAT volunteer. http://blip.tv/file/1416565
